What is “Dust”?
The answer to this may surprise, & at the same time, disgust you.
While the textbook definition of Dust is “Tiny, dry particles of matter that settle on surfaces or are carried in the air”, but just what exactly are those tiny and dry particles?
Well, these tiny particles are generally comprised of matter from several different points of origination. Depending on where you live, you may have “dust” in your home that came in by way of an open window or door (especially in the summer) that originated from plants or trees (think pollen). While this type of pollen can accumulate inside ones home, typical household dust is generally comprised of other tiny particles.
Some other examples of what “Dust” actually is include:
Dead Skin Cells
Fabric Fibers
Pet Dander
Hair
Dust Mites (& their droppings)
Microplastics
Insect Parts
Mold Spores
Soot & Ash
Thats quite the list of stuff. If someone were to ask us if we would like to eat some of the things on this list, I can only imagine that most people would politely (or not so politely) decline to do so. But these things do find their way into and onto us without us even realizing it. This is just one more reason that keeping up with household chores and keeping a clean home are very important. If you can’t get to it yourself, feel free to reach out to us. We would love to clean up those skin cells & dust mites for you!
